The store is named Priscilla’s after Priscilla Murphy, the first realtor on Sanibel Island. She traveled here from Michigan in the 1940s and opened up the first real estate office on the island in the early 1950s. She was my inspiration and muse - she is one of the many trailblazing women of Sanibel from past and present. 

My name is Maari and I live in Sanibel with my husband, Chas, and our children and dogs. We relocated here from Minnesota during the COVID-19 pandemic in August of 2020. After visiting here for my whole life, we decided to take a leap of faith and start a new adventure on the island of Sanibel. With a background in advertising/marketing, journalism and interior design and charity work in women advocacy groups, I feel that I have found my calling by opening Priscilla's of Sanibel. I am an old soul, inspired by the many women before us, and with us, who have worked so hard so that we can all enjoy this beautiful place on Earth. I am honored and humbled to be part of this wonderful community and I look forward to meeting you soon and hearing your own story.
